I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU GUYS WOULD EVEN THINK THAT SERIAL KILLERS ARE COOL UNLESS YOU'RE ON YOUR WAY OF BEING ONE OR ARE ON. SERIAL KILLERS DON'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO COOLNESS. THIS DEBATE WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE INTERESTING IF YOU HAD AN ARGUMENT THAT STATED, "WHO IS MORE OF A SADISTIC SERIAL KILLER?...TED BUNDY OR ED GAIN?" TED BUNDY WAS A BRILLIANT & INTERESTING MAN, BUT CHOSE THE WRONG PATH. ED...I GOTTA HAND IT TO HIM CAUSE THEY MADE MOVIES IN HIS IMAGE SUCH AS PSYCHO THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. NONETHELESS, THEY'RE BOTH FUCKED UP & TWISTED.

You might be interested in my blog, as well as my book on Bundy, "The Origins of Infamy" about Bundy's involvement in the unsolved murders of two women near Ocean City, New Jersey in 1969.

As far as future comparisons go there is no proof that Charlie Manson killed anyone himself he is very interesting but not a serial killer, If you are going to give points to Gein because of Manson's ex bassist you should give Bundy 2 because Jonathan Davis of Korn owns teds old VW. Also though this site was a nice waste of 10 minutes it is not in anyway scientific you kids pretty much arbitrarily assigned points. You each left out lots of important facts on both killers and each was misrepresented in at least one category. I am aware that more than likely you are using the term science and using it in a more sarcastic and snarky manner than in a serious way but still you have each misrepresented your killer of choice so shame on the both of you

Nice comparisons...very impressive.
Quick note on the comment left by that commumications officer guy - Ivan Milat was a very interesting man, not generic at all. He kidnapped his victims, tortured and kiilled them all yes, but each of them was killed in a different way. A few of his victims were paralysed before death so that Milat could experiment with them. One was used as a shooting target, and a total of ten bullets were found in their skull, one was beheaded, etc. This is incredibly rare for a serial killer. Also, the Port Arthur massacre was exactly that, a massacre. There is a dramatic difference between mass murderers and serial killers.

I believe it's unlikely that Ed Gein was responsible for the disappearence of those young girls. He babysat when he was younger and found it easier to relate to children than adults, as they were more accepting of him. It is highly unlikely that he would turn on those who appeared to understand him and made him feel comfortable. Also, young girls would not fit his classification of "women," and are therefore not prostitutes or 'the devil" as his mother taught him (herself excluded, naturally).

The reason for Ted Bundy's seemingly random onset of murder is subject to opinion basically. It was noted that he had a personality change before he began his spree. Personality changes only occur after a dramatic emotional upset, such as the discovery of his true parents. Bundy was raised by his grandparents, and grew up believing that his biological mother was his older sister. Before this discovery he had difficulty with social interaction, but I don't think it was a social anxiety disorder. Anyway, while in college he discovered the truth about his biological parents he became a much more dominant, yet approachable person. He often faked injury to obtain his victims, appearing friendly and obviously had social interaction down to a tee. But that's just my opinion...he's definitely an interesting man. Apparently in an interview he implied that people who show facial expressions that say "I'm afraid of you" invite abuse...interesting.

Sorry for rambling!!

Haven't ever mentioned this, but I'm a pretty big Ted Bundy fan myself. Well not a fan in the way I'd usually use the word, but I have read his entire Wikipedia page.

Aussie serial killers kinda suck. The Wolf Creek guy was pretty lame, he was kinda generic. He just kidnapped tourists, then tortured and killed them. And the Port Arthur Massacre guy was one of the most uncreative serial killers of them all! All he did was show up somewhere with a shotgun and started firing!

Timothy McVeigh, the dude that blew up that building in Oklahoma city was pretty cool though. Not even on the same level as Bundy or Gein, but interesting none the less. He voted in an election while on death row, which I think is pretty cool, but the most interesting thing about him is that his last meal was two pints of chocolate mint ice-cream. Having a dessert as your last meal is just hilarious in my mind. Of all the meals that he could have had, he thought to himself, "man, I could really go for some ice-cream about now!"

Bundy is still the Barry White of serial killers though.

i think that the process was done accuratley as Ted Bundy is cooler than Ed Gein, but you said is there any one better? well instead of thinking 'jack the ripper' and 'jefferey dahmer' what about John Wayne Gacy - he killed 33 men, while married and lived in a good neighbourhood, was respected by many people and politicians of the area he lived, was also known as the killer clown not because he killed when dressed as the clown but dressed as the clown to entertain younger kids he did not even kill. like Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy was respected by many, was intelligent and was clver enough to get away with his murders for a long time considering where he buried 27 of them.

Bleeargh.

I can only deal with serial killers through humour or stage shows... Assassins, Chicago, the Doug Anthony Allstars, that kind of thing.

I need a Doug Anthony Allstars chaser after that post.
